Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Frogmore Cottage home is now ‘like a fortress’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have prioritised privacy at Frogmore Cottage by making their home "a fortress", a royal expert claimed today.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were criticised recently over their need for privacy after Meghan's controversial appearance at Wimbledon and baby Archie's top secret christening.

But Katie Nicholl, who has written biographies on the royal family, said: "We know that they're living this wonderful tucked away life at Frogmore Cottage which is pretty much, from what I hear, a fortress.

"Privacy's the key factor."

Speaking to Christine Lampard on ITV's Lorraine today, the expert stressed the Grade II listed building in Berkshire offers top privacy.

Renovations to Frogmore Cottage will soon see a designer kitchen , water mains and a new state-of-the-art nursery built.

Friends today stressed these £3.2million plans "really aren't as grand as some people might think."

And Meghan was branded "childish" after her bodyguards warned Wimbledon goers not to take pictures of her enjoying the tennis.

The former Suits star and her husband also faced backlash for keeping son Archie Harrison's christening out of the public eye.

Meghan turns 38 next month.

Ms Nicholl believes the duchess will spend the big day solely with Harry and Archie.
