Ultimate faux pas? Man proposes to his girlfriend at his brother’s WEDDING without asking permission – before telling the bride he hopes they get DIVORCED when she got upset

  • A Reddit user insisted he didn’t think it would be a problem that he proposed to his girlfriend at the wedding because he and his brother ‘get along great’
  • The man claimed his brother didn’t care, but the bride was upset by the surprise
  • When he talked to his new sister-in-law about what happened, he told her she was ‘being dramatic’ and that he hoped she and his brother ‘get divorced’
  • People slammed him in the comments, with many hoping the post was fake because his actions were so outrageous

A man has revealed that he committed the ultimate faux pas and proposed to his girlfriend at his brother’s wedding, and if that isn’t bad enough, he also insulted the bride.

Reddit user Forsaken-Snow took to the ‘AmItheA**hole’ forum to share his story on Monday, admitting he hasn’t spoken to his brother or his new sister-in-law since he hijacked their wedding.

The man said that he knows what he did ‘sounds bad,’ but he insisted he didn’t think it would be a problem because he and his older brother ‘get along great.’

Crossing the line: A Reddit user has revealed that he proposed to his girlfriend at his brother’s wedding and then insulted the bride

‘When we were younger, we’d try to include each other in any celebrations/birthdays,’ he said.

The Reddit user recalled how they used to blow out the candles together on their birthdays, and they both honored the other at their respective graduation parties.

‘Last weekend was my brother’s wedding and since we were so close and generally had no problem sharing the spotlight, I figured I’d propose to my girlfriend,’ he said.

‘I went to the DJ and asked him to quiet down the music. I got down on one knee and made my proposal,’ he explained. ‘My girlfriend was ecstatic.’

The man said his brother was among the people who congratulated them, but about a half-hour later he asked to speak to him privately.

‘He told me he didn’t have a problem with my proposal, but that his now-wife complained to him and called me a bunch of names,’ he said. ‘I told my brother I’d talk to her, but I was upset that his wife didn’t just come to me to talk about what happened and was acting passive-aggressive about it.

‘When his wife had a moment to herself, I went up to her and apologized and said I should have asked her permission first. She went off on me and told me how I ruined the wedding,’ he continued.

‘I told her she’s being dramatic and everyone is having a good time. Unfortunately me and his wife were never really on the best of terms, I told her I didn’t think my brother should have ever married her and I hope they get divorced.’

The man admitted that he and his new fiancee left early, and they couldn’t find his brother or wife anywhere, so that ‘haven’t spoken since.’

If the Reddit user thought people would be on his side, he was sorely mistaken.

Say it ain’t so: Some were hoping the post was fake because his actions were so outrageous

People slammed him in the comments, with many hoping the post was fake because his actions were so outrageous.

‘You didn’t even ask the couple for their permission first? Dude, you’re a huge a**hole. And then you doubled down on the a**holery and told the bride you hope they get divorced? Dude, I hope this is fake cause that’s some next-level s****ness on your part,’ one person wrote.’

‘LO-freakin’-L at how he starts it all off with a “I know it sounds bad, but just hear me out guys!” before explaining how he not only hijacked his brother’s wedding, but then also proceeded to say vile, unforgivable things to the bride,’ another commented.

‘There are very few situations where proposing at someone else’s wedding is acceptable. The “don’t ask for permission and then cuss out the bride afterward” option is not one of them, believe it or not.’

‘It has to be fake, right? Like, no one lacks that magnitude of self awareness,’ someone else said.
