I'm pregnant and my boyfriend wants me to get a termination but my heart says not to

DEAR DEIDRE: I WAS desperate for a baby, so I came off the Pill.

I am now pregnant and my boyfriend thinks it was a mistake.

He now insists that I have a termination.

I am 19, he’s 20 and we have been together for 18 months.

I know I have behaved really recklessly but I just have this longing for a baby.

He was angry when I told him, even though he’d said loads of times before that if I got pregnant, he’d always be there for me.

His brothers and his parents are not being very supportive either.

My heart tells me to keep the baby and maybe he will come around.

My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.

Do not convince yourself your boyfriend will come around or be a good parent if he does so reluctantly.

Think very carefully about your next steps – you may well have to take them without your boyfriend.

Speak to your doctor immediately and arrange to see a counsellor.
