Harry and Meghan's daughter Lilibet could meet cousins this weekend

Prince Harry and Meghan’s pal Omid Scobie insists there ‘is still opportunity in the days ahead’ for Lilibet to meet her cousins George, Charlotte, and Louis for the first time – after revealing Queen has FINALLY met her namesake

• Scobie, 40, says door is still open for a meet-up between the Sussexes’ son and daughter and their cousins, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children 
• The royal biographer told GMA that Harry and Meghan’s ‘priorities’ on their trip to the UK were ‘celebrating the Queen’ and ‘introducing her to their daughter’

• It came after the Sussexes attended a private Royal Family lunch at Buckingham Palace following Trooping the Colour 
• Of the behind-the-scenes tensions between the Sussexes and other members of the Royal Family, Scobie said they have ‘put any difficulties to one side’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s journalist friend Omid Scobie says it is still very possible that the couple’s daughter Lilibet will meet her three cousins for the first time before the Sussexes return to California – amid ongoing speculation about frosty relations between the pair and the other royals. 

Appearing on Good Morning America on Friday, Scobie, 40, said that Harry, 37, Meghan, 40, had ‘two priorities’ during their trip back to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations: ‘celebrating and honoring the life and legacy’ of the Monarch, and introducing her to their daughter for the first time. 

According to the royal commentator, that meeting took place on Thursday afternoon at Windsor Castle, where he says the Queen, who was nicknamed Lilibet as a child, had the chance to meet her namesake great-granddaughter after a royal family lunch at Buckingham Palace. 

‘Of course we know the Queen went back to Windsor Castle yesterday, the couple went back to Windsor as well where they’re staying at Frogmore Cottage,’ he told BBC Breakfast.

‘So that would have been the first moment or the first chance for her to meet her namesake.’ 

He added to GMA: ‘For Harry and Meghan, I think they had two priorities on this trip: to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of the Queen and also introduce her to their daughter. 

‘Yesterday after Trooping the Colour would have been the first opportunity for that, [when] they [all] headed back to Windsor.’ 

His comments came just moments after Harry and Meghan exited St. Paul’s Cathedral to a mixture of cheers and boos, having attended a Thanksgiving Service alongside William, Kate, Prince Charles and Camilla, and other members of the extended royal family. 

The Sussexes were expected to maintain a relatively low profile over the four-day Jubilee celebrations, with no sign of the Netflix cameras that followed them around at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands in April and during their trip to New York last September. 

However the service at St. Paul’s in London was one of just a couple of public events that they were due to attend – marking their first joint royal engagement since March 2020. 

During the church service, the couple were seated a fair distance away from Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his father, Prince Charles, and the Sussexes were not publicly seen speaking to or interacting with either of the royals during the proceedings, fueling further speculation that relations between Harry and his family remain very tense. 

However, Scobie insists that the entire royal family have ‘put any difficulties to one side’ during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in order to ensure that ‘all attention remains focused’ on the Monarch. 

‘We are all watching to see how they are getting on with the other family members,’ he said, adding: ‘I think everyone has really put any difficulties to one side to really make sure that all attention remains focused on the Queen and that the environment they’re all in is really positive.’

He also claimed that, despite Harry and Meghan appearing to keep their distance from William, Kate, Charles and Camilla, behind the scenes that may be a very different story – with the royal biographer, who has long been friendly with the Sussexes, suggesting that there is still ‘opportunity’ for the couple to meet up with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children in ‘private’. 

‘Of course there will be a number of private moments,’ he said, adding that it is still very possible Archie and Lilibet will have the chance to spend time with their cousins, George, Charlotte and Louis. 

‘No news yet but I’d say there are still opportunities over the days ahead.’ 

Lilibet, who was born in California and is due to celebrate her first birthday on Saturday with a small gathering at Frogmore Cottage, has yet to meet any of her royal cousins – having never before traveled to the UK. 

Three-year-old Archie has not seen any of his cousins since he was a baby. 

Thus far during the Jubilee celebrations, Archie and Lilibet have been kept away from the public eye, with Harry and Meghan choosing not to bring their children to either of the two major events that they have attended: Trooping the Colour and the St. Paul’s service. 

However, Prince William and Kate’s three children, George, eight, Charlotte, seven, and Louis, four, captivated the attention of the public when they joined their parents at the Trooping the Colour celebrations on Thursday, where the youngest of the three children became a viral sensation thanks to his very animated reaction to the royal flypast. 

The mischievous young royal stole the spotlight on the balcony of Buckingham Palace when the was seen pulling faces and picking his nose while standing alongside his great-grandmother. 

Louis, who is the youngest of the Cambridge children, was also photographed waving enthusiastically at bystanders earlier in the day, as he joined his siblings in a carriage ride down the Mall to Horse Guards Parade for the Queen’s Birthday Parade. 

However, his most attention-grabbing moments came courtesy of the obviously strong bond he shares with his great-grandmother, the Queen, who was seen chatting to the youngster during the flypast, seemingly in an effort to distract him from the loud noise of the aircraft. 

And Louis seemed entranced, looking up inquisitively at the monarch, and seeking out her attention. At one point, he even broke away from his mother Kate, 40, to barge past the Queen, much to the bemusement of the Duchess of Cambridge and Camilla. 

According to a lipreader, during the noisy flypast, as Louis was seen trying to squeeze past the Queen on the Buckingham Palace balcony, Kate said to Camilla: ‘He really is trying to squeeze by!’ 

The Queen is affectionately known as ‘Gan Gan’ by the Cambridge children – after Prince George created the adorable nickname for his great-grandmother aged two.
