Hairdresser claims we all make same mistake when shampooing our hair02/17/2021
Though you may have led a long, happy life safe in the assumption you had cracked the skill of washing your own hair using shampoo – you could have been doing it wrong the entire time.
Twitter user @Felicityynicole shed light on how we should all actually be washing our hair, with her post already reaching more than 2,500 likes and drawing plenty of replies from thankful followers claiming their hair already feels better following her advice.
Hairdresser Felicity revealed she had realised so many of us are blissfully unaware of the fact that when showering, you should use shampoo not once but twice.
She said: "The first time will cleanse the hair of all the oils and product build up so that when you do it for the second time the shampoo can actually do what it’s intended to do.
"Also, only apply shampoo to the scalp and when you rinse it will run through the middle and the ends. Then only apply conditioner to the middle and ends of your hair, and use your fingers or a wide tooth comb to detangle in the shower while conditioner is on.
"And lastly remember to only wash your hair 2-3 times a week because too much washing can cause more build up and damage to the hair."

The words of wisdom seemed to work wonders for some people, as one user replied to the post with: "So I saw this yesterday and decided to try your 2x shampoo advice when I washed my hair tonight… Omg THANK YOU!
"My hair honestly feels better now! I can’t believe what a difference that made—or that I’m 26 and just finally learned the right way to wash my hair from a Tweet."
Hairdresser says we've been washing our hair wrong by not cleansing it twice
Delighted her advice had been taken, Felicity responded with "I’m so glad it helped!!! Keep it up and you will notice such a big difference."
Yet another user thanked the hairdresser for her advice, writing: "WHAT. MIND. BLOWN. This is the stuff they should teach us in school, damnit!"
A third Twitter user responded to the hair tip with some information of her own, claiming: "This is how we should be washing our faces too! First wash gets rid of makeup/oil/sunscreen and second wash actually cleanses your skin!"
