Ex-vicar, 81, and husband, 27, move in together after year of open relationship

An 81-year-old retired priest has moved in with his 27-year-old husband after they spent a year reportedly having an open relationship.

Philip Clements and Florin Marin married three years ago in Kent after meeting on Gaydar.

Having sold his home to live in the Romanian capital Bucharest, the retired Church of England vicar became tired of his husband's late night clubbing habbit.

The pensioner moved back to England as the rift in their relationship grew.

The wounds now appeare to have healed, with Philip accepting that Florin may need to spend time with people his age on weekends.

He told The Sun: "I know when he's busy not to disturb him and to give him space.

"He goes to the gay club in Bucharest once a week and I'm fine with that.

"He must have space to be with younger people, it's very important when there's this big age difference. We've both learnt a lot."

The couple, who live off Philip's church and teaching pension, are now looking forward to their third wedding anniversary.

They plan to celebrate it with a home-cooked meal.

Having given up his job at a car rental company at Ali Cante airport, Florin is hoping to find work as a manager.

Now they live in a two-bedroom house in the heart of Bucharest, where they enjoy taking in the tourist hotspots.

They overcame a difficult spell in September last year when Philip underwent heart surgery and broke five ribs, The Sun reported.

The former vicar was able to rely on Florin for emotional support.

"When I  was in hospital, Florin came to visit me everyday and spent two to three hours visiting me," Philip said.

After they tied the knot in 2017 the Dover man said he had never been so happy.

He said: "Florin is my first long and meaningful relationship since I retired from the church, I am just so in love with him.

"He is the funniest man ever, he makes me laugh until my belly hurts.

"Laughter is such an important ingredient to our marriage. Florin is the most amazing man and is so handsome."

Before they moved in together they would meet up every two to three months .

They would also go on holidays to Turkey, Spain and Romania.
