Have you ever wanted to see a parade of tiny dogs wearing dresses and costumes make their way down a red carpet?

Well, your wish is this chihuahua beauty pageant’s command.

Hundreds of chihuahuas took part in the pageant and strutted down a runway to show off their looks to an admiring crowd.

The tiny pups were decked out in some first-class finery as they competed to win the coveted title of Britain’s Most Beautiful Chihuahua.

More than 800 people and dogs from all over the UK attended the chihuahua-only competition in Yardley Gobion, Northamptonshire.

Ultimately, it was little Twiglet, wearing a full-body pink pom-pom, who stole the show to be crowned ‘Miss Chihuahua Town’.

Chiweenie Beanie – a chihuahua-dachshund cross – was the top dog in the fancy dress category for her party hat, multicoloured wig and sunglasses ensemble.

Another activity at the event was the cheese run challenge, where the dogs sprint as fast as they can down a lane, eating pieces of cheese lined up along the route.

The competition was organised by Kerry Brooks, who runs events for all breeds, under her ‘DogTown’ brand.

If you need us, we’ll be riddled with fomo for the rest of the day.

Photographer Sue Thatcher, 69, said: ‘It was crazy. People make these costumes and hand sew them for their dogs.

‘It’s good fun and nice, but you can’t get your head around it.’
