Demand for velvet blazers soars by 203 per cent as Prince William looks dapper in one

Prince William's outfit really impressed fans recently.

The dapper Duke of Cambridge stepped out at the first ever Earthshot Prize awards ceremony at Alexandra Palace in North London in a green velvet blazer, and people were impressed.

It seems that the Prince is taking lead from Kate's go-to brands as the smart jacket is from much-loved brand Reiss.

Many fans soon flocked to the couple's official Instagram account to compliment William on his ensemble.

And LovetheSales.com has revealed that the demand for velvet blazers has soared by a whopping 203 per cent compared to last week, after William was seen sporting one.

Searches for lilac dresses have also risen by 100 per cent, after Kate Middleton was seen wearing her gorgeous recycled lilac Alexander McQueen gown at the awards.

Prince William also donned a polo neck and, surprise surprise, there has been a 100 per cent demand in those too.

The Reiss Blazer which the Duke of Cambridge wore is also out of stock, after the Prince William effect kicked in.

One user posted: "For the first time, I think Prince William stole the fashion spotlight! The jacket's amazing."

This was followed by: "Sooo elegant, and William looks fabulous in his Velvet Jacket!!"

A third then commented: "I think William is the fashion plate at this event!"

We are used to the Duke sporting blue and black suits or tailored blazers when he steps out to make special appearances.

Despite this, he has recently been following in his wife's footsteps by opting for chic and cool ensembles such as this one.

One fan made sure to point it out by saying: "Love the new look for William."

The Earthshot Prize awards ceremony is organised by Prince William and The Royal Foundation.

The prize is designed to find innovative solutions to environmental challenges from across the globe.

And Kate and William weren't the only famous faces to turn up at the awards, with Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and Shawn Mendes among those set to perform.

There was also a star-studded line-up of presenters, including The Duchess of Cambridge, Emma Watson and Emma Thompson.

Prince William recycled his outfit, having last donned the smart blazer while attending the Centrepoint 50th Anniversary Gala at the Roundhouse in London in 2019.
