Co-op is selling ROAST POTATO flavoured crisps – and fans are confused

01/26/2022

The Co-op is selling roast potato-flavoured crisps for £1 – and fans are a bit baffled.

Some people are excited to try the snacks, which are flavoured with "Cornish sea salt, rosemary, roasted garlic and black pepper," but others say it's just a clever marketing ploy.

A few fans took to social media to wonder if the crisps – which are currently on offer for £1 down from £1.70 for 150g – will taste of much since they're made of potatoes already.

But others on social media said they sound great – and one customer said eating them give him an "out of body experience".

One user called the crisps "great marketing," while another wrote on Instagram: "I’m intrigued unsure if this would taste of anything."

They were first spotted on shelves by Instagram user Kevssnackreviews.

The snacks – which contain 187 calories per 38g portion – are on sale for Christmas and are sold in 150g sharing bags.

They will go up in price from Wednesday, November 14 so if you want to try them, grab a bag for £1 before then.

They're far from the only new Christmas item on supermarket shelves.

Tesco is selling mince pie cookies and Christmas pudding shortbread this year.

And you can now buy Christmas crackers that contain pink gin for £10 each.
