Cliff Richard has had a music career spanning more than 60 years. It is no surprise he has managed to build up a huge fortune during this time.

The singer has earned a staggering £84million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Cliff was born on October 14, 1940 in Lucknow, India and moved to the UK when he was eight years old.

He was born Harry Rodger Webb but became best known for his stage name of Cliff Richard.

His love of music reportedly blossomed when he was 16 years old and was bought a guitar by his father.

Two years later, Cliff became the lead singer of the rock and roll band the Drifters, who were also known as the Shadows.

The band started to grow in popularity with the early single ‘Move It’ which gained the number two spot in the UK charts.

Cliff released a number of singles by himself and started to gain recognition in the UK and US charts.

In the 1960s, he turned his hand to a career in acting.

The performer starred in films including Summer Holiday, The Young Ones, Wonderful Life and Finders Keepers.

Cliff added to his fortune with writing credits in many of the films he acted in.

His on-screen roles were so popular that Cliff was named the top cinema box office attraction in the UK in 1962 and 1963.

He boosted the bank balance by releasing a song to accompany his film The Young Ones.

The single became his best-selling UK hit, selling more than one million copies.

Over the years, Cliff has continued to work on his music career and released a number of singles.

These have helped him achieve 14 UK number one singles and he has become the only singer to top the charts in five decades in a row.

Cliff was so popular he became the third top selling artist in the UK charts, behind the Beatles and Elvis Presley.

He has total sales of more than 21million singles which will have helped him build his fortune.

As well as earning money from music, Cliff has some of his fortune in property.

Earlier this year, the singer put his Barbados mansion on the market for a staggering £6.8million.
