Carol Vorderman sends fans into a frenzy with ‘beautiful’ brunette hair makeover

Carol Vorderman may have cemented herself as a blonde for the past few years, but she was very much a brunette for a recent TV appearance.

Taking part in quiz show Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel on BBC One on Saturday night, the 61 year old wore her rich chocolate hair in a Brigitte Bardot-like beehive style with face-framing layers, which couldn’t be more different from her usual blonde hair.

Carol’s makeup was also on point, complete with a gorgeous smoky eye and youthful, glowing complexion – something her fans were quick to point out on Twitter.

“Carol Vorderman looking gorgeous on The Wheel tonight,” one tweeted, while another added, “How gorgeous does #carolvorderman look on The Wheel?! Love her hair dark. Proof you can be a beautiful 50 something brunette [sic]”.

Meanwhile a third chimed in with, “I can’t get over how stunning Carol Vorderman looks!” as a fourth said, “Carol you look really fantastic. Loving you back as a brunette. Beautiful”.

However, as The Wheel was filmed some time last year and Carol has made several appearances on social media lately with her usual blonde tresses, it’s likely that the brunette style wasn’t a permanent change but merely a one-off for the show.

Just a few months ago in October she took to social media to show off a refreshed lighter blonde shade ahead of the 2021 Pride of Britain Awards.

"Gone a bit blonder for the @prideofbritain awards. Thank you, thank you Kala @kalas_hair_boutique. Loving it xx,” she captioned an Instagram Stories selfie showcasing her new look.

Carol went on to ask her followers for their verdict on the new colour, giving them the option to say whether they preferred the original caramel shade or her new lighter one.

Thankfully the majority of her fans loved her hair transformation, with 53 per cent voting for the blonde look.

But who knows, maybe Carol will make the brunette locks a permanent arrangement in future following all this recent praise from her fans!
