A five-year-old boy was left with facial injuries after a cyclist ploughed into him and sent him flying through the air before fleeing.

Freddie-Lee Simmons-Fletcher was cycling home from school in Hull with his mum and three siblings when a rider knocked him to the floor.

Daniel, 28, said: "I'm so angry as a parent about what happened and I can't believe the man just rode off without helping. It's a hit and run, no matter whether the accident happened with a car or bike and we've reported it to the police.

"I want the man finding and punishing and I want him to explain how he could a five-year-old boy in a pool of blood like he did. It's not fair what happened.

"It's lucky that Freddie didn't end up in intensive care with what happened, as it could've been so much worse."

A number of people rushed to Freddie's aid including Anthony from 35 Taxis who saw it happen and family friend Amy Barnes who tried to shout at the youngster to avoid the impending crash.

The dash-cam video was shared by Hull man Andy Wilson who was driving down Greenwood Avenue at the time of the collision. He saw the appeal by Hull Live posted on Saturday and shared the footage in a bid to help find the culprit.
