Autistic man looking for love melts hearts on Twitter with ‘pure joy’ video of himself dancing – after ‘wonderful’ date with an ‘awesome man’

A video posted by an autistic man dancing after enjoying a successful date with an ‘awesome man’ has gone viral – after Twitter users described it as ‘pure joy’.  

The Bolton man, known as James, who posts under the Twitter handle @DaleksGamertag, shared the heartwarming video of himself dancing enthusiastically to Electric Light Orchestra’s classic hit Mr Blue Sky after his romantic rendez-vous went well.

The video sees the smartly-suited Liberal Democrat supporter offering up his best moves – a la Hugh Grant in Love Actually – during the minute-long video.

James, who describes himself as gay, autistic and ‘obsessed with video games’ in his Twitter profile said he’d been moved to throw some shapes after ‘a wonderful date’. 

The video has already been watched more than 77,000 times. 

James wrote: ‘I just had the most wonderful date! I’m so happy and he is absolutely awesome! 

‘So a warning to the trolls who hate autistic people expressing themselves a fat, autistic guy is dancing again! Dancing to Mr Blue Sky!’ 

Far from being trolled, the response since James posted the clip has been hugely positive, with many of those who’ve seen it saying the video brightened up their day.

James regularly documents his experiences of dating as an autistic man

Responding to the avalanche of affection, James wrote: ‘I’m glad my cheesy dad dancing could make so many people smile, the only thing I want to share with you is thank you for being kind I promise to pay it forward to as many people I can.’
