A body positive influencer has revealed what her legs actually look like in spandex shorts.

While she used to cry over her stretch marks, Victoria Garrick now embraces them to show the reality behind seemingly-flawless Instagram snaps.

The 24-year-old American boasts 373,000 followers on Instagram, where she often shares uplifting and inspiring content to bust beauty ideals put on women.

She is a mental health advocate and hosts a podcast talking about the issue of body image – she was even a former volleyball athlete.

Keeping up with her motivational mission, Victoria has shared a clip to her Instagram to highlight and ‘normalise’ what women’s legs look like in spandex shorts.

It is common to see influencers sport a toned body and ‘flawless’ legs as they don their sportswear, but the body positive babe has taken it upon herself to show the reality.

In the clip, Victoria donned some teeny black shorts and a blue skin-tight tank top as she flaunted her toned-looking legs.

She wrote in the video: "Legs in spandex on Instagram vs real life."

Then, the influencer then shared what her legs looked like away from the strategically posed stance which is commonly seen on Instagram.

Victoria then zoomed in on her thighs to reveal white stretch marks, body hair and stubble upon her legs.

The brunette beauty then sat down with her relaxed belly and filmed her thighs as they touched together.

She captioned the post: “This video is for anybody who’s ever felt insecure in their spandex… why do we all feel so bad and ashamed about things that are NORMAL?!?

“I wish my 16-year-old self who cried over her stretch marks 'coming too far down her leg' could see me now.”

And, her teen self would be proud as many people were left inspired by the post.

Floods of fans fled to the comments to thank the influencer for sharing the reality behind posed snaps.

One person commented: “I wish I had an influencer like you to look up to as a kid. Thank you for what you do

Another user added: “I appreciate this so much. I’ve started sharing these videos with my daughter who hit an early growth spurt and needs encouragement.”

While a third person voiced: “I do appreciate that sitting shot because I always felt so self conscious about that.”

Someone else praised: “Thank you Victoria this is so awesome and real.”

And, a fifth person expressed: “I needed this !!! thank you for your constant positivity.”
