Asda is selling a foot long stuffing sausage topped with pigs in blankets for Christmas

CHRISTMAS isn't Christmas without over indulgence, which is why Asda is selling a foot long stuffing sausage covered in pigs in blankets this year.

The sausage centrepiece costs £5 and will be available in stores and online from November 28.

The supermarket is also selling an "extra special Christmas cracker", which is a blend of turkey, pork and all the trimmings – including mashed potato, parsnip and brussels sprouts – in one footlong sausage.

It costs £6 and will be in store and online from October 21.

It follows on from the success of the "ultimate" pigs in blanket last year, which measured a foot in length and 45mm deep.

The Sun has asked Asda for the measurements of its new giant sausages and will update this article once we've heard back.

An Asda spokesperson said that the "…centerpieces provide customers with something full of flavour that can be easily enjoyed by meat-loving guests."

Asda's Christmas menu also includes winter spiced gin and elf ice cream.

Yesterday we revealed that Tesco is selling nine different pigs in blankets, including two made of chocolate.

Whereas Aldi is selling a spicy pig in blanket made with the world's second hottest chilli.

And if you're a fan of a super-size sausage then Aldi is selling a giant one that's over 6ft long.
