Former “American Idol” contestant Avalon Young is fighting for her life.

The 26-year-old singer — who appeared on Season 15 of the show in 2016 — is preparing for a second surgery as she battles brain cancer and is seeking help to pay for it.

“Avalon underwent a 16 hour surgery on February 26th to remove a tumor the size of peach, in her front left temporal lobe,” her GoFundMe’s latest update reads. “Although the surgeons removed the majority of the tumor, they feel an immediate second surgery is necessary,  followed by weeks of radiation and chemotherapy.”

Young, who is originally from San Diego, began struggling with “simple partial seizures,” she previously shared on Instagram. She underwent several medical tests, and an MRI ultimately helped doctors discover the “mass legion tumor” located on her left frontal lobe in November of 2020.

To date, Young’s GoFundMe has raised $43,619 of its $100,000 goal.

“We are confident our Medical Team will continue to perform miracles and Avalon will recovery quickly,” the page reads, adding that Young has been recording new music between treatments.

Young has been optimistic throughout her health battle.

“[E]verything is gonna be okay, the journey is gonna be wild, but i’m ready for it. love you guys a ton. f*ck cancer,” Young recently wrote on Instagram.
