The giant tech company will first launch the ranges in its UK store, before then making them available online. Amazon’s store, located in London, is the company’s first physical shop outside the US.

Amazon’s two own-label food ranges are entitled ‘By Amazon’ and ‘Our Selection’.

The ranges will launch in the company’s new London store, before then going on sale online.

Amazon is the world’s largest retailer, but it is yet to dominate the grocery industry.

Perhaps that may change in the coming months with the opening of its first store and food products.

Amazon Fresh is located in Ealing, London.

The store sells prepared meals and some groceries, as well as Amazon devices.

It is much smaller than a normal supermarket and also works in a different way.

To shop in the store, shoppers have to scan a smartphone QR to open the shop’s gates and their purchases will be tallied using cameras and shelf weight sensors.

Shoppers’ on-file credit cards will be billed after they leave the store and a receipt will be emailed to them, meaning they can walk out of the store without paying.

The store also has a counter for collecting and returning online Amazon orders.

Matt Birch, the former Sainsbury’s executive who now leads Amazon Fresh Stores UK, said: “The focus was just creating a really easy shopping experience for customers.”

“We recognise that UK customers want to shop in a convenient way so we really think they will appreciate being able to walk in and walk out with the shopping they need.”

Mr Birch said that the food ranges available in the new store cover “hundreds of products”.

The standard range includes “everything from British milk to free-range eggs and butter, all the way through to our food-to-go sandwiches and prepared meals for the evening or a few days”, according to Mr Birch.

Amazon’s premium range features delicious desserts, such as a “chocolate bomb”.

Mr Birch said that the food products are “really designed to surprise and delight”.

The food ranges will also include Amazon branded beers, wines, and spirits.

In the US, the tech company has around 24 Amazon Go stores, which are cashier-less convenience stores.

It also has two Amazon Go Grocery stores, which are larger supermarkets, and ten Amazon Fresh stores.

Amazon has said that it hopes to open more stores in the Greater London area in the future.
