Spoilers: Who will Alf choose in Home and Away – Martha or Marilyn?

Marilyn (Emily Symons) has been through a truly harrowing experience, as she walked home from work in the evening only to lose sensation in her legs and be left overnight on the ground in the cold and dark. In the morning, Mackenzie (Emily Weir) stumbles across her, and she is barely conscious.

Mackenzie gets Marilyn rushed to hospital, where her condition is rapidly deteriorating. Logan (Harley Bonner) realises she is suffering from a delayed response to the chemical attack, and Marilyn awaits the verdict nervously with Alf (Ray Meagher) by her side.

Before long, Marilyn’s machines begin beeping and Logan is alarmed to discover her organs are failing. A terrified Marilyn is placed into an induced coma, and Alf demands an explanation. However, Logan is still trying to solve the medical puzzle himself.

Alf’s troubles are far from over, as Logan’s next patient is Martha (Belinda Giblin). The new doctor tells Alf that his wife’s kidneys are failing, so she needs to be moved to a renal unit in the city for immediate dialysis. Alf is faced with an impossible choice – go with his wife to the city and leave Marilyn in a coma, or let his wife go through dialysis alone?

Martha insists that Alf needs to remain in the Bay to be there for Marilyn, but Alf is torn. Marilyn was so scared before being put under and wouldn’t want to be alone, but he can’t leave his wife to undergo specialist treatment either.
