Instructions

To begin, heat up six cups of water in a pot on your stove. Alessandro said: “You don’t need to bring it to boil, but to the point it is almost boiling.”

Now chop up your basil leaves and add one cup to your pot of water. Next, do the same for geranium leaves if you have them.

Peel and chop your cloves of garlic and then add them to the pot of water. Alessandro said you can replace the garlic with a big onion if you wish.

For the last ingredient, chop up some sage and add it to the water. Now turn the heat down so that the mixture is boiling on a low heat and then add the lid and let the mixture cook for 30 minutes.

Once ready, remove the mixture from the heat and put it aside to cool down. Once completely cool, use a strainer over a clean pot to separate the solid vegetables from the liquid.

Add the liquid to a spray bottle, but you can also place the vegetables around the borders of your garden to keep both foxes and cats away. Spray the mixture around your garden every few weeks to keep them gone for good.

Alessandro said: “This mix of strongly scented herbs is known to repel foxes and other kinds of animals. Repeat the process every two weeks when the scent wears off or after a heavy rain.”
