There are many ways to create a beautiful garden space, but an easy one is by recreating Mrs Hinch fabulous outside area. And don’t worry, it’s possible to entirely transform your backyard even if you’re on a tight budget.

Cleaning influencer Mrs Hinch showed fans at the beginning of summer how she turned an average garden into an amazing backyard.

Mrs Hinch outdoor space features a big pergola, a few pieces of furniture including an egg chair, enormous plants and beautiful lighting.

Chris Harvey, Head of Marketing at Stelrad and interior designer, explained creating a summer oasis at home is easier than people think.

“If you want a breathtaking garden but have a lower budget, then being clever with accessories is key.

“I’d focus on one seating area, an egg-chair for example, and then use different textures such as suede cushions and fluffy throws to create a luxe-looking haven.

“Large plants and glass candle stands are other great ways to get a gorgeous garden on a budget; if you want to save even more go for artificial plants which are cheaper and won’t die,” said the expert.

If you can afford to go big, he advised: “Follow Mrs Hinch’s garden vibe with a pergola.

“Incorporating this trend into your garden can extend an area creating a larger illusion while increasing the amount of time you can spend outside. A pergola can cast enough light shade to make even a warm afternoon enjoyable.”

DON’T MISS

The décor expert explained that some of the most popular garden furniture trends this summer are outdoor lights, water features, fire pits, garden bars and pergolas.

But how can you improve your garden space with these items to feel the ultimate summer holiday vibes?

These are some of his top tips to create the most perfect atmosphere:

“Adding a hammock, some soft lighting and lanterns or candles all help to achieve a relaxed summer evening feel.

“Neutral coloured garden furniture paired with Aztec print cushions and pops of colour is my favourite look for summer. Add some coloured glass crockery and you may as well be in Ibiza.

“A garden rug would be top of my list; they really help to pull a look together and can distract from unattractive paving or less-than-fresh grass. I also think you can’t go wrong with a nice wicker sofa set, paired with garden cushions and fairy lights.

“Lighting is key,” he added.

The interior design expert said that ‘‘fire pits are a must-have when it comes to purchasing garden accessories, it can add a stylish feel to any space while also keeping you and your guests warm which is perfect as the weather drops late evening.”

He continued: “But one more thing I always like to have in the garden is a painted fence; I think a navy or royal blue matt fence looks gorgeous against lush green foliage and neutral accessories.”

But once you have created your little oasis at home, how can you maintain it looking flawless the whole year?

“One word – covers.

“Whether you have wicker furniture, wooden pieces, a BBQ, whatever it is it is imperative you buy good quality plastic covers to protect your precious pieces from the wet British summer.”
