You can get a Nutella chicken masala on Deliveroo this week

If you fancy a curry this week, why not swap your regular korma, tikka or jalfrezi for a limited edition chocolate curry?

Yes, that’s right… chocolate.

Deliveroo customers can get their hands on a Nutella chicken masala curry from today (February 2) until Sunday February 7

The bizarre hybrid merges the popular chocolate-hazelnut spread with red chilli, spices, coconut milk, lime zest, garlic and coriander stems for a sweet-meets-savoury sauce.

This unique creation is then paired with some tender chicken tikka pieces to complete the plate.

If you can’t quite get your head around the dish, you’re certainly not the only one – but it seems there’s a reason behind it.

The unique curry has been brought out in honour of World Nutella Day, which is this Friday. To celebrate the national day, Indian restaurant Tamatanga is swapping its classic chicken curry for this chocolatey alternative.

Customers can get the nutty curry on Deliveroo from the Tamatanga restaurants in Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham.

Aman Kular, managing director at Tamatanga, said: ‘Our friend’s at Deliveroo challenged us with creating a truly mouth-watering Nutella curry, and to our surprise, we were blown away by the results. 

‘For decades people have used nuts to make rich and creamy sauces, and many chefs will know you also experience a depth in food when you match chocolate with chilli. The flavours work so well together – the taste is incredible, you’ve got to try it to believe it.’
