TikTok user says he feels 'violated' by Digestive biscuit claim

Jaffa Cakes have been named the most dunkable biscuit to dip in a cup of tea. Researchers compared 18 of the most popular biscuits by dunking them in water with a temperature of between 70 and 75 degrees Celsius – the same as the average cup of tea – and recording how long and how many dips before they broke. Yet the digestive was voted as the nation’s favourite biscuit to dunk. Express.co.uk wants to know which you consider to be your favourite biscuit to dunk. Vote in our poll.

Despite many arguing it is not a biscuit, the Jaffa Cake withstood 116 dunks over three minutes and 16 seconds before breaking.

The Chocolate Leibniz came in second place with a respectable 80 dunks, followed by the Bourbon biscuit at 78 dunks. The plain digestive came in last place with just six dunks, breaking in less than 12 seconds.

A spokesman for TopRatedCasinos, the firm that carried out the research, said:  “While we may be a nation divided on a lot of things, our love of tea and biscuits has lasted through the ages.”

They admitted that the Jaffa Cake was “perhaps a slightly controversial winner”.

Discussing the research on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, April 26, host Susanna Reid weighed in on the results. She said: “The clue is in the name. It’s a Jaffa Cake, it’s not a Jaffa Biscuit is it? No.” She added: “The best biscuits, as we all know are rich teas.”

A second part of the study surveyed more than 2,000 people in the UK over 16 years old on their favourite biscuits to dunk in tea.

It showed that the digestive was the most popular, with 26 percent of the vote, followed by a rich tea biscuit with 24 percent, and a chocolate digestive with 21 percent.
