In a world that never sleeps, a lot of us feel the need for a caffeine boost in the morning.

In fact, there are countless coffee lovers around the world who enjoy that black americano or soy milk latte.

And for those of us who simply can’t live without the stuff, it might be time to move to New York.

The American city has (unsurprisingly) been named the best city in the world for coffee lovers thanks to its whopping 762 coffee shops, providing an abundance of choice when it comes to getting your caffeine fix.

The city’s bustling lifestyle and fast-paced work culture is often associated with coffee consumption, with pop culture references such as Friends’ Central Perk and Seinfeld’s Monk’s Café adding to its reputation.

Claiming the second spot on the list is Melbourne, Australia, with it’s 388 coffee shops garnering a whopping 27,500,000 TikTok views.

In fact, it has a longstanding reputation as one of the world’s coffee capitals.

The list has been compiled by the team at coffee producer Tambia, who studied TikTok, Instagram and TripAdvisor data in over 360 cities to see which location got people talking about coffee the most.

Interestingly, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia takes the third spot on the list.

There are over 12,000 photos shared with the hashtag #RiyadhCoffee on Instagram, but it’s on TikTok that the Saudi city has made waves, with over 20 million views on videos shared by coffee lovers.

This is despite the fact that there are only 19 coffee shops in the city.

Toronto, Canada, and Hanoi, Vietnam, also made the top 10 best cities in the world for coffee, as did Seattle, Chicago and San Diego.

Hanoi’s abundance of coffee shops and unique traditional iced coffee has seen a surge of popularity on social media platforms like TikTok, with the hashtag #hanoicoffee gathering over 17.5 million views.

London placed eighth on the list of best cities for coffee lovers, however it topped the list for the number of coffee shops within a city.

The UK capital had a crazy 1,505 coffee shops, providing those of us who need that caffeine fix with plenty of choice.

Paris ranked just ahead of London in seventh place, with its romanticized café culture playing a significant role in the city’s coffee scene.
