There's an avocado-themed restaurant coming to London next month

Could you eat avocado for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Well, soon you’ll be able to do exactly that.

An avocado-themed restaurant is landing in the UK next month, offering a plethora of colourful dishes with the stone fruit taking centre stage.

The Avocado Show has already had roaring success in Amsterdam and has attracted a hefty Instagram following with its vibrant plates – including its popular ‘avocado bun burger.’

As the name suggests, this customer favourite features a beef patty, which sits between two avocado halves.

Other dishes on the menu include an ‘avo garden’ with avocado, hummus, spices, herbs and flowers, alongside avocado fries with a truffle mayonnaise.

Londoners may already be familiar with the restaurant – following a successful pop-up in the capital two years ago.

The team had planned to make the restaurant’s official London debut last year, but the launch was delayed due to the pandemic.

The first UK site is set to open on Princes Street, Mayfair, in September and there are talks of launching two more in the capital very soon – with wider plans to roll out venues across the rest of the country, too.

Co-owner Ron Simpson told iNews: ‘We have plans to open outside of London, in Paris and Stuttgart, and would love to sign more partners in the UK. It’s an interesting market.

‘We have three locations in London opening over the next year. It’s a dream to be here. I’m excited and there might be a surprise or two.’

However there’s no denying that the environmental footprint of avocadoes has been questioned over recent years.

But Ron adds that this is something the The Avocado Show is tackling.

He added: ‘We partner with a company in Holland called Nature’s Pride. We believe in one simple thing – avocados are very healthy and good for you. There’s not a question of whether we should be eating them.

‘We also demand sustainable crops. We have an open conversation with our supplier who shares our vision. They guarantee fairness and our avocados are certified as sustainable. We want people to be aware.’
