Pret's Christmas menu is here – and there's a Boxing Day toastie

11/02/2022

It’s the most wonderful time of the year; when coffee cups turn red and menus from food outlets change for the festive season.

Even if you’re not quite ready for Christmas, you can still indulge in a few mince pies and mulled wines – and you can give your lunch a seasonal spin too, with Pret a Manger’s Christmas menu for 2022.

The chain invited 200 lucky foodies to get a sneak peek behind the wrapping paper before the launch today, which sees old favourites and new additions alike on offer.

Three festive drinks have been added to Pret’s roster, including a brand new praline latte to warm your cockles.

In terms of food it’s a real feast, with ingredients like hog roast, brie, and cranberries adding some sparkle to your sandwiches.

Plus, vegans are more than catered for (as you’d expect from Pret) with a Beet Wellington baguette and a plant-based falafel option with festive flavours throughout.

Ready to whack out the Santa hat and stuff yourself with treats? Us too.

Here’s what you can find on Pret a Manger’s Christmas menu from now until the big day.

Praline Latte

New to the casual food outlet is Pret’s Praline Latte, which features a sweet, nutty syrup and plenty of whipped cream on top.

Gingerbread Latte

A fan favourite, the Gingerbread Latte is back for 2022. It features gingerbread flavouring, whipped cream, and a dusting of cinnamon to get you into the spirit.

Macaroon Hot Chocolate

Another returning item, the Macaroon Hot Chocolate includes macaroon flavoured syrup and whipped cream – perfect for when you want a comforting winter warmer.

Festive Falafel and Squash

This vegan delight is brand new this year, and comes in sandwich or salad format.

Whichever you go for, you’ll get butternut squash, sweet potato falafel, Christmas pesto, pickled cabbage and carrot, cranberry sauce and vegan sage mayo, topped off with rocket and crispy onions.

From each sale, 50p will be donated to The Pret Foundation to help them tackle hunger, poverty and homelessness in the UK.

Beet Wellington Baguette

Nope, not beef, beet. Another one that’s suitable for vegans, this take on a classic British dish might be a contender for top Christmas sandwich for herbivores and carnivores alike.

In a crusty baguette, there’s sliced maple-roasted beetroot, truffle mushrooms, and Christmas pesto and vegan sage mayo, again topped with rocket and crispy onions.

Christmas Brunch Rye Roll

On this year’s menu is a brand new festive sandwich with a difference, comprising sliced avocado and truffle mushrooms topped with tofu mayo, ribbons of smoked carrot, and a sprinkle of mustard cress.

In case you hadn’t already guessed, this one’s vegan-friendly.

Boxing Day Toastie

This toastie may be one of the most exciting new products on Pret’s menu, meaning we don’t have to wait for the 26th to indulge.

Each toastie contains turkey, ham, pork stuffing, caramelised onion chutney and sage mayo, freshly toasted so it’s crispy and gooey.

Hog Roast Mac & Cheese

If you’re looking for a hearty meal, this pasta dish is the way to go.

The sauce is made from extra mature cheddar, with pulled ham, caramelised onion and parsley, alongside a topping of panko breadcrumbs and Italian cheese.

Creamy Mushroom Mac & Cheese

You don’t need to miss out if you’re veggie. This alternative swaps pulled ham for mushrooms and spinach – but there’s still plenty of cheesy goodness.

Christmas Lunch Baguette and Sandwich

The classic Christmas lunch sandwich and baguette are back for another year, packed with British turkey, port and orange cranberry sauce, herby pork stuffing and baby spinach leaves.

50p from the sale of each of these goes to the Pret Foundation.

Brie and Cranberry Baguette

Also back is this vegetarian festive staple, made up of French Brie, port and orange cranberry sauce, roasted pistachio nuts, mayo, and rocket.

Pigs in Blankets Hot Roll

Available at breakfast time, you’ll be feeling ultra Christmassy all morning after one of these crusty rolls.

A Pret returning favourite, it’s stuffed with bacon-wrapped sausages alongside a layer of caramelised onion chutney and dab of mustard mayo.

Sweet Treats

As well as the savoury items and drinks, there’s a new Chocolate Orange Mini loaf now on Pret’s shelves if you’re after something sweet.

The brand’s beloved Melvin snowman cookie is also back, and seasonal items like the tiffin and mince pie (naturally) will also be available.
