A sharing dish of cured meat and cheese is already a Christmas treat but if you want to make it even more festive, try a charcuter-tree board.

Instagrammer Kayla, who posts as @houseofteasdale, showed how she makes hers, with rosemary branches between each one and a little star on top.

The cheese and charcuterie sits as decoration inbetween for you to pull apart and enjoy.

Obviously it doesn’t do anything for the taste but it adds a little more fun for your guests.

Kayla starts with a sheet of brown paper underneath, then adds a sprig of rosemary and some cheese cubes, with some grapes to look like baubles.

Next up is more rosemary, olives and a row of folded cured meats. She repeats the process picking different cheeses and meats, with each level getting smaller every time to create the tree effect.

She adds a trunk made from breadstick and a star shape cut out of cheese at the top.

Others loved the idea and said they would be trying their own version.

One person commented: ‘Ok freakin cute and so very YUM.’

Someone else added: ‘This is such a cute idea. Love it babe.’

‘Omg this is adorable! So clever and festive,’ another commenter said.

It’s not the only charcuterie trend that is big this year. Earlier this week, we brought you jarcuterie – serving the elements of a charcuterie board in mini jars for an individual portion.

The idea is perfect for social distancing this year too.
