Nobody Asked, But McDonald’s Is Testing Blueberry McGriddles Breakfast Sandwiches

It appears McDonald’s is trying solve the age old problem of “sweet or savory?” for those indecisive mornings—well, at least for people currently living in Washington, D.C., that is. Three different Blueberry McGriddles breakfast sandwiches are being tested exclusively at participating locations in the metropolitan area.

The culinary innovation team at McDonald’s developed this line of sandwiches as a response to customer feedback saying they are looking for a more ‘craveable’ breakfast option. It’s an indulgent, sweet and savory item that can be eaten on the go.

The three test menu items, available for a limited time only, are:

Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Blueberry McGriddles Breakfast Sandwich

Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Blueberry McGriddles Breakfast Sandwich

Sausage McGriddles Breakfast Sandwich

“The flavors from the real blueberries balanced with the sweet taste of maple, reminds me of the blueberry pancakes my mother used to make for us growing up,” said Culinary Innovation Spokesperson for McDonald’s USA, Carol Martino. “Imagine that combined with your choice of sizzling breakfast sausage or thick cut bacon nestled under a creamy slice of American cheese and fluffy egg. It’s everything you love about breakfast in one sandwich.”

That’s true, but IDK about mixing it all together in one bite.
