Mars chocolate recall: Popular chocolate Revels recalled over fears it may contain metal

Marks Wrigley UK has announced a recall on one of their most popular chocolate products due to fears that some pouches could contain small pieces of metal. Shoppers who have recently bought the item should return it to stores with a receipt to receive a refund.

The Foods Standards Agency shared details on the website and wrote: “Mars Wrigley UK is recalling Revels pouches as they may contain small pieces of metal due to a mechanical breakdown. 

“The possible presence of metal make this product unsafe to eat.” 

What batch of products are affected?

Lidl, Waitrose, M&S & more urgently recall sandwiches, chocolates and other items

Pack size: 101g pouches

Batch code: 006C2SLO00 and 006D1SLO00

Best before: 31 January, 2021

Mars say that no other Revels packs are unsafe, and that none of its other product lines have been affected.

If customers have bought one of the affected packs, they should not eat the chocolate and instead return it to stores or contact their Customer Care team to arrange a full refund:

Mars Wrigley UK aren’t the only major food producer to recall one of their products recently.

Budget supermarket Lidl has also recalled items over fears of undeclared sulphur dioxide.

They are recalling the Alesto Raw Fruit & Nut Bar Cacao & Orange due to undeclared sulphur dioxide. 

The Foods Standards Agency shared details on their website and wrote: “This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.”

Pack size: 35 g

Best before: October 2020

The supermarket have also recalled Naturis Cold Pressed Juice Assorted ‘Rooting For You’ due to undeclared sulphur dioxide. 

Pack size: 750ml

Best before: 12 July, 2020

Customers should return the affected product to store with a receipt to get a full refund.

Alternatively, customers can dispose of the product and email [email protected] including a photo of the affected product and Best Before End date. 

Shoppers will also have to follow government guidelines and practise social distancing if they return the products to the store in which it was bought from.
