Food recalls are issued when a product is unsafe for customers to use. For example, if an item contains an ingredient not mentioned on the label, it could cause harm to someone with allergies. Here is the full list of the latest supermarket food recalls.

Lidl

The German discounter is recalling its own brand oat milk after a video on TikTok showing lumps in the milk went viral.

Poster of the video, Luna Martin, 23, said the milk was “lumpy and sour”.

The oat milk has been withdrawn from shelves, but Lidl has assured customers it will be back in stores very soon.

A Lidl spokesperson said: “At Lidl, it is never our intention for a customer to be dissatisfied in any way and we work very closely with our suppliers to ensure that the products in our stores are of the highest possible quality.

“Following customer feedback we have recalled the affected batch and the product will be back in stores very soon.”

Waitrose

Waitrose & Partners is recalling its Belgian Dark Chocolate with Raisins and Almonds because of undeclared hazelnuts.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to hazelnuts.

Due to a packaging error, some packs contain Waitrose Belgian Dark Chocolate with Hazelnuts instead.

The notice was posted on the Waitrose website as well as on the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

Waitrose said: “If you have an allergy to hazelnuts do not consume and package up the item and return the product to your local Waitrose & Partners branch for a refund.

“Contact: Waitrose Customer Care 0800 188 881, Option Four.

“We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused.”

Asda

The supermarket giant is recalling its Extra Special Lamb Moussaka due to undeclared egg.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

The best before dates affected are 14 October 2021, 15 October 2021, 16 October 2021, and 17 October 2021.

The retailer said: “Asda is recalling the above Use By Date Codes of Asda Extra Special Lamb Moussaka (400g) because packs contain egg which is not mentioned on the label.

“If you have purchased the item with the above Use By Dates, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund.

“You do not need your receipt. No other date codes are affected.

“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information please contact: Asda Customer Relations – 0800 952 0101.”

Morrisons

Morrisons also has an active food recall on some of its own-brand ice creams.

The supermarket is recalling its Milk Chocolate Amour Ice Creams in a three pack with a best before date of February 2023.

This is due to it containing pieces of blue plastic.

The retailer said: “Morrisons is recalling this product code February 2023 because there is a risk that some packs may contain pieces of plastic. No other products or best before dates are affected.

“Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We do not need a receipt.

“No other products are affected by this issue.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”
