Jaffa Cake donuts to soon hit UK stores – as well as new blackcurrant flavour

The “jonut” is McVitie’s latest creation and, as the name suggests, is a combination of both a Jaffa Cake and a donut. The new product will be on sale in the UK soon.

McVitie’s Jaffa Cake donut is coming to Iceland stores soon, the Mirror reported.

The food retailer currently sells a huge box of 100 Jaffa Cakes for £5, and will be adding a new addition to its range soon.

However, Iceland does not yet know when that will be.

A spokesperson for the chain said: “We’re not currently in a position to confirm details just yet – as soon as we’re able to share more information for our Jaffanatics, we will!”

Jaffa Jonuts will be available to buy in packs of four and, like the original Jaffa Cakes, will be suitable for vegetarians.

Customers can expect a soft sponge base, an orange filling, and a dark chocolate topping – but in the shape of a ring donut.

The new product was first shared by UK Snack Attack, which often posts news of new foods on its Instagram.

It said: “Whilst the world may be bored of chocolate orange, no one can deny that Jaffa pave the way for the rest!

“These Jaffa creations are described as a magic Jaffa combo with a twist.

“A soft doughnuty shaped sponge, filled with tangy orange filling, and topped with the classic Jaffa chocolate!”

Jaffa Cake fans were delighted with the news of the new product, expressing their excitement in the post’s comments.

One Instagram user wrote: “Oh wow!! These are up my street for sure.”

Another person wrote: “These look good.”

One Jaffa Cake fan added: “Just wow.”

Jaffa Cake donuts will be the latest McVitie’s product to be introduced to UK supermarkets, coming around the same time as a brand-new Jaffa Cake flavour.

Blackcurrant Jaffa Cakes will be launching in Tesco stores today, 26 April.

The news of the new blackcurrant Jaffa Cakes was announced last week, and packs will be available exclusively at Tesco.

Customers can buy a box of 10 Jaffa Cakes for £1.20 each.
