Greggs has teamed up with Heinz to reward the nation in the run up to Christmas with a huge giveaway of 50,000 breakfasts. From today until New Year’s Eve, those who newly download the Greggs Rewards app will bag themselves a free breakfast roll (not forgetting the Heinz Tomato Ketchup or HP Brown Sauce) and a hot drink to take away.

The lucky 50,000 can choose from bacon, sausage or omelette in their rolls.

This will be paired with the sauce you would like and a hot drink of their choice.

The offer will be loaded into the app as a QR code, which customers can scan in shops.

Greggs customers can use the app to collect digital stamps when buying food and drinks.

Scan your app every time you shop, and for every nine products you buy in a product category, your 10th item in that category will be free.

Product catergories are those such as sandwiches and hot drinks.

Remember, to redeem the free breakfast offer, you must be a new user of the app.

Greggs is preparing for the festive season with the Greggs Christmas menu.

What is the chain offering for 2020?

The popular festive bake is making a return to the menu this year with its chicken breast, sage and onion stuffing and bacon, which is all encased in a sage and cranberry sauce.

There is the Pigs under Blankets baguette which contains pork sausages, cooked sweet cure bacon with a smokey flavouring onion and sage stuffing and port and cranberry sauce.

Fans can also enjoy the salted caramel latte and a mint hot chocolate.

Now fans can use the app to earn points on these festive treats.

The festive menu is also available via Click & Collect or customers can pick up their order for takeaway only.

When visiting the bakery, customers must make sure they are wearing a face covering and socially distancing from anyone else who may be in the store.

Or, Britons can make their own at home with the Greggs sausage roll recipe.

The recipe has been created by Flava-It.

You’ll need pre-rolled puff pastry, sausage meat, one egg and a Flava-It garlic and herb seasoning sachet.

In a Facebook post, the bakers told customers to try a GIY or Greggs It Yourself and detailed how to make the tasty pastry.

Greggs wrote on Facebook: “If you’re craving a Sausage, Bean and Cheese Melt right now, we sadly can’t bake it for you, but here’s how to #GreggsItYourself.”
