Aldi to launch Wagyu pizza for Valentine's Day dates at home

02/07/2022

Valentine’s dates at home don’t have to be low-key thanks to Aldi’s new luxury pizza topped with Wagyu beef.

Wagyu, the specialty Japanese beef, is usually expensive but it has been made more accessible thanks to Aldi’s low prices.

That means even the laziest date nights just got a bit more exciting.

Alongside the pizza, there will be a full steak selection for the romantic day, with Wagyu cuts featuring across the range.

Coming to stores on February 9, prices start from £3.99 – which for Wagyu is a steal, as prices are often £50 and up at restaurants.

The pizza has a sourdough base, baked in a wood-fire oven, then topped with shredded Wagyu beef brisket, teriyaki sauce and caramelised onions.

There will also be a Wagyu Rump Steak, Ribeye Steak, Sirlion Steak and Fillet Steak, all going for under £8 each, which means you can upgrade your steak and chips night with ease.

In the spirit of togetherness, twin packs will be available for couples spending the night indoors too.

Aldi says the twin steaks ‘are carefully matured for 36 days for a fantastic full flavour and all for an unbelievable price of less than £3.50 each’.

The brand have previously come out with Wagyu sausages, which have gone down well with shoppers on Twitter, with one writing: ‘I love their wagyu sausages!’

Another said the Wagyu products were circled on their wish list, a sign of ‘maturity’ they wrote.
