WE’VE all witnessed the annoyance of a slow, clogged drain: dirty water filling up, weird noises, and awful smells.

No matter how much water we pour down the drain or how many times we turn on the disposal, sometimes the problem just won’t get better.   

Luckily, TikTok’s resident cleaning expert @Carolina.McCauley said she has a simple solution—and you likely already have the tools at home.

“If your drains are moving slow,” she began, “add a cup of baking soda and white vinegar.”

She said to then cover the drain with a towel for ten minutes and let the solution work its magic.

Finally, remove the towel and pour hot water.

“It’s moving much faster now,” she revealed.

Although some users were thankful for the hack, others warned against it:

“Y’all, snake your drains and use Drano. This doesn't do anything,” said one.

“Do not pour hot water. Many pipes can be made of plastic and you could melt the plastic,” claimed a second.

Regardless of what some people think, tips like these have garnered Carolina a following of over 2.5 million users on TikTok.

Recently, she posted another video that offered a tip for removing black mold from your home’s walls and white surfaces.

Although there are many products on the market that claim they can remove mold, Carolina’s hack involves only one, common ingredient: vinegar.

“Add diluted vinegar to a spray bottle,” she explained.

Then, the expert simply sprayed the “infected” areas and allowed the vinegar to soak into the mold for about twenty minutes.

Once the alarm rang, Carolina said to wipe away the mold with a cloth. Her trick means the guck will easily slide right off.  

“Nice and clean,” she concluded.
