The North Face Japan Remixes Staple Winter Outerwear With GORE-TEX INFINIUM

The North Face‘s Japanese branch, operated by sportswear behemoth Goldwin, is known the world over for its covetable twists on classic adventure garments. Its latest covetable revision is a set of blacked-out jackets updated with cutting-edge GORE-TEX INFINIUM, transforming them into weatherproof layers ideal for all seasons.

This drop sees the Q3 bomber and Denali jacket realized in GORE-TEX INFINIUM, powerful contemporary technology that’s breathable and lightweight but dense enough to remain waterproof in all but the worst downpours, with water droplets beading up and rolling off the greyish textile. This enhancement accompanies some thoughtful, user-friendly touches seen throughout the drop.

For instance, the Q3 bomber — a sleek silhouette uncommon outside of Japan — sports a soft, paneled weatherproof shell lined with sweat-wicking nylon that swaps the fastener tape usually seen on YKK zippers for lightweight AiryString to enhance packability. The Denali, meanwhile, retains its famous fleece on the interior for insulation while the exterior is again informed by GORE-TEX so as to protect its wearer against moisture and breezes.
