THERE’S actually a term for when the skin on your face starts sagging – it’s called the Face Dump.

Skin consultant Nipun Kapur Sohal is an expert in all things skincare and anti-ageing, who wants to help women avoid and reverse the Face Dump.

In an informative TikTok video directed at women in their 40s and 50s, she shared exactly what it is and how you can avoid it.

“You might be experiencing the Face Dump,” Nipun said. “And this is basically when you feel your skin is sagging to the floor every single day.

“Now, understand this is happening due to a lot of hormonal changes that are happening in your body.

“So, your skincare routine needs to be different from everyone else.

“You need some key ingredients – peptides, retinol and sunscreen.”

Nipun recommended having a different routine for the morning and evening, which are as follows…

AM ROUTINE

Start the day by washing your face with a gentle cleanser.

Nipun recommends following this with a copper peptide serum, such as The Ordinary’s Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1%, previously known as “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1%.

The copper peptides are chemicals that combat signs of ageing associated with oxidative stress.

They smooth out fine lines and wrinkles by making the skin more elastic and firm.

After this, you should follow with a niacinamide serum – with The Ordinary’s costing just £5 – which is water-based and therefore boosts skin brightness and strengthens the skin barrier over time.

The final step in your morning routine should be your preferred face sunscreen.

PM ROUTINE

Nipun recommends winding down at night by double cleansing your face and applying The Ordinary’s £8 Argireline Solution 10% on the washed and dried skin.

The next step is to apply The Ordinary’s £9 Matrixyl 10% + HA, which has been proven to reduce the look of static AND dynamic wrinkles.

“Once the face is completely dry and the product is fully penetrated, go in with a pea size amount of retinol or tretinoin,” Nipun concluded.

As always, finish your PM routine with your favourite mosituriser to lock all of the products in.
