AS summer sets in, everyone is looking for their garden furniture ready for BBQs, garden parties and enjoying the lovely sunshine.

So, move over the Egg chair,  it’s time to give a spotlight to 2022s top garden furniture piece: The moon chair. 

With an increase in search demand of 488 per cent from 2021 according to Google Trends data , the moon chair is making waves as a summer staple for outdoor hosting in 2022. 

And to help Brits, interior design experts Furniturebox has given us the lowdown on what this new furniture piece is and provided their top tips for styling and maintaining their new moon chairs.

She said: “The moon chair is set to be the stand-out garden furniture piece for summer 2022.

“This cushioned moon chair is specifically designed to be the perfect spot to cosy up and bask in the sun.

“The chair is ever-so-slightly tilted for ergonomic comfort, and the textured rattan is UV and weather-resistant, so it’s really low maintenance.

“We talked to colour theory specialist, Momtaz Begum-Hossain, and found citrus is the trending theme this summer, lemon, lime and orange in particular.

"You can incorporate these shades by pairing pillows and throws with your moon chair so you can enjoy this cosy seat right through into a balmy summer night.”
