Royal Family news: Meghan & Harry drop below Prince Andrew on website as Duke once joked he'd 'panic' bumping into Queen

06/05/2021

THE Queen won't slam the door on Prince Harry because she fears the "devastating consequences" for his mental health.

Although she is said to be quietly devastated by the Duke and Duchess' relentless "truth bomb" attacks on the Royal Family, the Queen's priority is understood to be her grandson's well-being.

Royal expert Angela Levin tweeted "My view is that Harry's family in London are very worried about his mental health and think slamming the royal door in his face could have devastating consequences.

Levin was responding to reports that Kate Middleton recently said that even after Harry and Meghan's devastating Oprah interviews it still isn't too late to "pull them back in".

PRINCE HARRY HAS REMAINED UN-SHY OF CAMERAS SINCE LEAVING THE UK

The Duke has remained unshy of the cameras, and in May he and Oprah teamed up to launch The Me You Can't See – an Apple TV+ documentary series about mental health.

He opened up again with the chat show legend and accused the royals of showing "total neglect" for his mental health woes.

And he claimed Charles caused him to "suffer" and didn't "make it right" for him after his mother's death in 1997.

He also spoke about Meghan's battles with mental health – and said she would sob into her pillow after 'smears' from The Firm.

And he said he was faced with an "element of shame" when he opened up about his struggles. Harry and Meghan have not directly criticised The Queen, with reports suggesting Prince Charles would "close ranks" with his mother if they did.

HARRY JOKES ABOUT BUMPING INTO THE QUEEN (CONTINUED…)

Harry smirked as he made the comments, which caused an eruption of laughter from those he was talking to.

In the HBO documentary, Queen of the World, one of the group Harry addressed described the Royal household as "a fun place to work".

Claudine Jeffrey, who was visiting from Antigua, said: "I say it’s an adventure every day because every day it is always something different.

"You never find that you are doing the same thing so that’s really amazing because I love a challenge and I don’t like to be bored.

"To find myself in Buckingham Palace, it is beyond my wildest imaginations."

PRINCE HARRY JOKED HE WOULD ‘PANIC’ BUMPING INTO THE QUEEN AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE IN UNEARTHED FOOTAGE

PRINCE Harry admitted he would "panic" if he bumped into the Queen in the hallways of Buckingham Palace in rediscovered footage.

The Duke of Sussex joked about being scared of his grandmother just two years before packing up his bags and moving to the US with wife Meghan Markle.

In an unearthed clip from a 2018 documentary about the Queen's role as head of the Commonwealth, Harry made light-hearted comments about fearing bumping into Her Majesty.

He was speaking to a group of hospitality professionals from the Caribbean who were staying at the Palace when he told them "not to panic" if they spotted the Queen coming towards them in the corridors.

"You guys have spent way more time in Buckingham Palace than I ever have – and you’ve only been here two weeks," the 36-year-old said. "Have you bumped into the Queen yet? If you suddenly bump into her in the corridor, don’t panic.I know you will. We all do!"

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie and their new daughter “could join the Queen on the Buckingham Palace balcony for her Platinum Jubilee,” it’s been said.

With celebrations set in the calendar for June 2022, many believe that Archie and his baby sister will make their first balcony debut along with the Royal Family.

Meghan and Harry revealed earlier this year that they are expecting their second child – with their daughter set to be born in the summer.

Kate and William’s kids – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – have all made their debuts on the infamous Buckingham Palace balcony.

Little Archie will turn three before the Jubilee – and could be among members of the family present when Trooping the Colour takes place on June 2.

COVID LOCKDOWN WAS ‘STAGGERINGLY DIFFICULT’ FOR QUEEN

The coronavirus pandemic was “staggeringly difficult” for the Queen and Prince Philip during lockdown in Windsor Castle, Prince Edward has revealed.

The Earl of Wessex, 57, and his wife Sophie, 56, opened up about how the Covid crisis impacted his parents when the world shut down and they were forced to isolate.

“For them, life is so much about contact, it’s so much about people and then suddenly that all stops,” Edward told The Telegraph Magazine.

Although the Queen’s engagements keep her busy and it “doesn’t really give her very much time to dwell on anything for too long”, he said the pandemic was “staggeringly difficult” for his parents.

The Queen, 95, was locked down at Windsor Castle with 22 members of staff in what a top aide dubbed “HMS Bubble”, The Sun on Sunday revealed in April last year.

SOPHIE WESSEX ON HEARTACHE OF SEEING QUEEN SIT ALONE (CONTINUED…)

The Earl added: “It’s always difficult with these kinds of things because you’re in the middle of it, so you’ve got no idea what it necessarily looks like from the outside.

“It became really poignant to be there because it was suddenly so very intimate.”

Sophie, 56, also pointed out how nice it was to have a “lengthy chat” with Prince Harry after the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral – insisting the couple are "still family no matter what".

The Duke of Sussex flew back from their new home in LA to attend Prince Philip’s funeral, leaving his wife Meghan and son Archie in America.

It was the first time that Prince Harry had returned to the UK since stepping down as a senior royal, and giving a bombshell interview to Oprah with Meghan.

SOPHIE WESSEX REVEALS MOMENT WHEN ‘EVERYTHING STOPPED’ AT PRINCE PHILIP’S FUNERAL AND HEARTACHE SEEING QUEEN SIT ALONE

SOPHIE Wessex has revealed the exact moment that “everything stopped” during the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.

The Countess of Wessex was emotional describing how the Queen was left to sit alone during the service in memory to Prince Philip.

Speaking to The Telegraph, she said: "everything went still" as military personnel lowered their heads in respect to Philip, who had dedicated his life to the Royal Family and the UK.

And Sophie added there was an "oh my goodness" moment as she watched her husband of more than 20 years walk behind the duke's coffin.

She said: "I think the fact that there were so few of us only served to raise the intensity of it. You don’t actually think about lots of people watching, because it becomes so personal.

“To see Her Majesty on her own; it was very poignant.”

PRINCE EDWARD JOKES ‘OPRAH WHO?’ AFTER NEPHEW HARRY’S EXPLOSIVE INTERVIEW WITH CHATSHOW QUEEN

PRINCE Edward and his wife Sophie Wessex joked about nephew Harry’s bombshell interview – quipping “Oprah who?”

The couple have been “reluctant” to get involved in the ongoing drama between the Royal Family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prince Harry, who stepped down from Royal duties last March, accused the Royals of “neglect” and claimed that his father Prince Charles made him “suffer” as a child.  His shocking new comments on a new Apple+ series with Oprah Winfrey have left senior members of the Royal Family concerned about future comments as they are unable to respond to the claims.

Harry and Meghan Markle accused a senior member of the Firm of being “racist” during an hour-long special with Oprah Winfrey in March.

An insider claimed that every time Harry or Meghan speak publicly the “family look on with their hands over their eyes.”

      QUEEN TO HOST JOE BIDEN

THE Queen will meet President Joe Biden next weekend at Windsor Castle.

Her Majesty, 95, is also due to host First Lady Jill Biden during the meeting on June 13.

Biden will already be in the UK for the G7 summit in Cornwall on his first overseas trip since becoming President.

But the timing means the Queen may have to miss England’s opening Euros match against Croatia.

Buckingham Palace said in a short statement: “The Queen will meet the President of the United States of America and First Lady Jill Biden at Windsor Castle on Sunday, 13th June 2021.”

Biden will be the the 13th US President to meet the Queen, who has hosted every American head of state since taking the throne in 1952.

SOPHIE WESSEX JUMPED TO ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY’S DEFENCE OVER NOT KNOWING OPRAH

The Countess jumped to the Archbishop of Canterbury defence, after he said that he had spoken to the chat show star at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018 and had no idea whose she was.

Sophie added: “You know, if you’re not into chat shows, there’s no reason why you should know who she is. Certainly not in this country, anyway.”

Prince Edward feigned ignorance when asked about his nephews explosive interview which has caused a rift within the Royals.

The Duke of Sussex flew back from their new home in LA to attend Prince Philip’s funeral, leaving his wife and son Archie in America.

After the funeral in April, Harry was seen talking with William and the Duchess of Cambridge as the group left the service.

HARRY AND WILLIAM’S PEACE TALKS AT PHILIP FUNERAL WERE ‘DOOMED TO FAIL’ SAYS EXPERT

A royal source said at the time of the funeral: “It looked like a conciliatory move by William to wait for Harry and allow him to catch up and chat to him and Kate. That could be a significant moment.

“Harry appeared grateful for the opportunity, and Kate seemed to make a point of letting the brothers walk alone together, having briefly chatted to Harry as well.”

But Harry and William’s “peace talks” at their grandfather’s funeral were “doomed to fail” – because Harry had been plotting his new bombshell documentary the whole time, an expert claimed.

The Duke made a series of extraordinary new allegations in the programme The Me You Don’t See – including that father Charles left him to “suffer” amid “total neglect” for his mental health.

William, Harry and Kate were pictured walking together after the service, while it was understood Charles and Harry had also spoken privately.

THE REASON PRINCE WILLIAM DOESN’T WEAR HIS WEDDING RING

The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton 10 years ago was one of the most-watched events of the decade.

But, some eagle-eyed social media users have noticed something different about Wills and Kate – while the Duchess proudly displays her sparkler on her left hand, the Duke’s wedding ring is nowhere to be seen.

Ditching tradition, it seems that William isn’t a fan of jewellery at all.

After the royal pair got hitched in 2011, a spokesperson from the palace revealed the reason why the Prince decided to go ringless.

They explained: “It is simply down to personal preference. It was something that the couple discussed but Prince William isn’t one for jewellery.”
