Prince Harry and Prince Williams feud explained plus how Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton fit into it

08/17/2019

MEGHAN Markle and Kate Middleton have been at the centre of rift rumours for months – ever since Kensington Palace confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were moving to Windsor.

Announcement of the move got the rumour mill churning, and before long there were headlines speculating over whether Meghan and Kate Middleton were getting on behind palace doors.

Are Prince Harry and Prince William at war?

Royal sources have claimed Prince Harry and his brother William have drifted apart.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the Duke of Sussex started a "showdown" with Prince William and Kate Middleton and "read them the riot act" one evening after their kids had gone to bed.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were said to have been caught off guard by Harry's speech, while his then bride-to-be maintained a "stony" silence throughout.

Since then, it is believed the brothers have not seen eye-to-eye and have stood by their spouses.

Writing for the Daily Mail, royal expert Robert Jobson claims the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are understood to be waiting until Harry and Meghan return to Windsor before they head up to Scotland for their annual visit.

The expert claims Kate and William want to avoid Prince Harry after he said in wants "two kids, maximum" to save the planet.

Do Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton get on?

While the move was a shock announcement, no officials have confirmed there is any kind of rift between the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge or Prince Harry and William.

In fact almost all evidence points towards the two women getting on well, with the pair often seen laughing and joking together.

Christmas 2019 seemed to quash the rumours of a rift even further.

The two ladies attended a Boxing Day pheasant shoot and appeared comfortable and friendly towards each other.

Speaking on the decision to move homes, a royal source told The Sun: "The initial plan was for Harry and Meghan to move out of their cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace and into one of the main apartments.

"But there has been a bit of tension between the brothers.

“Now Harry and Meghan don’t want to live next to William and Kate and want to strike out on their own."

It is understood that they want to bring up a family away from the "goldfish bowl" of London and start a life more privately.

However, all Kensington Palace has revealed is that the couple love the Frogmore Estate: “Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Highnesses,” reads the official statement.

"And they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate."

Their offices will remain at Kensington Palace but will be separate to William and Kate's office.

We approached Kensington Palace to ask if there is a rift between the two Duchesses and they did not wish to comment.

Recently at Archie's christening a body language said Kate appeared to be doing her best not to steal Meghan's limelight and looked ready to flee.

The uneasy body language may have been an attempt to prevent further rift rumours.

Is there a rift between William and Meghan?

After Meghan and Kate seemed natural and friendly towards each other at Christmas, the attention shifted to Price William and Meghan's relationship.

A 20 second video of the Prince fiddling with his scarf prompted speculation he was ignoring Meghan.

In the clip, Meghan seems to turn to William who was distracted fixing his scarf, and didn't seem to notice.

Kensington Palace did not respond to questions on the clip.

What about Kate and Harry?

It is unclear who the rift is really between.

However, it appears all members of the Fab Four have fiercely defended their spouses.
