THEY’RE the family of six who moved intensive care nurses to tears with their stunning lockdown rendition of the hit One Day More from Les Miserables.

And now the Marshes, from Kent, have revealed the hilarious antics behind their viral video – and how they had to bribe their bored kids to take part as well as making the lyrics less soppy.

Dad Ben, 43, admits that, at first, his four children Alfie, 13, Thomas, 12, Ella, 10, and eight-year-old “diva” Tess weren’t too impressed with his coronavirus-themed version of the West End song.

But after being tempted with a treat for dinner and a phone for Tess to hold they were more than happy to belt out lyrics like “watch our daddy drink, see our mummy sigh, clapping for the NHS to make them cry”.

“Everyone was up for it in the end – we promised them pizza if they did it well!” says Ben, a history lecturer at the University of Kent.

“There’s always a diva and Tess, the youngest, was only going to do it if she had a phone. This was a big thing for her. If you get Tess on board, you’ve won half the battle.”

Incredibly, the family, who live in Faversham, filmed the clip in just two takes, with mum Danielle, 42, a university administrator, singing the opening lines: “One day more, another day, another destiny, shopping for online delivery. I tried again, only to find, there’s nothing till September time.”

They posted the video on Facebook on Sunday night, where it has already been shared more than 250,000 times.

“We wanted to help cheer people up,” says Ben.

“A reminder there’s going to be good stuff on the other side of all the horrors we’re all dealing with.”
