TIPPING the scales at a staggering 14.5 stone – Becky Cross knew something in her life desperately needed to change.

The car sales rep, 23, had been gorging on takeaways nearly every day and all the ready meals meant the was soon squeezing into size 16 clothes.

She was given a stark reality check when summer came round and she felt unbelievably uncomfortable and unable to even go outside.

Desperate to do something about her weight, Becky decided she needed to learn how to cook her own food once and for all.

She signed up to Spicentice, which helps you learn how to cook using meal kits, and she has since lost an incredible five stone in just 15 months.

Becky, from Portsmouth, has also overhauled her shopping habits and set up an Instagram account to help hold herself accountable for her spending and eating.

She said: "I can remember pulling clothes on in the summer of 2016 and I just knew I had to do something.

“I couldn’t afford to buy a whole new wardrobe and didn’t want to buy anything in a size 18.

"Within a few weeks of being on Instagram I’d discovered Spicentice and decided to try it out for myself."

And Becky's new weight loss plan means she can still eat some of her favourite dishes including curries, burgers and pizza.

I feel so much better within myself. I never used to want to leave the house or be seen outside alone but I’m so much more confident

All of the kits she used to cook included 100 per natural ingredients, that were also gluten-free and suitable for vegans.

She added: "The easy step-by-step recipes meant that even though I had no cooking experience I was making some really tasty dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala, Cajun Chicken Pasta and Gourmet Chips when I fancy a treat.

"Instead of ordering expensive takeaways I was able to make the exact same dishes at home – plus they were much cheaper, healthier and even tastier too.

"I’ve tried other healthy-eating programmes such as meal-replacement smoothies, but I just couldn’t do it.

"Cooking homemade and with the kits means that I’ll never get bored – there’s always new kits being released so you can try new meals all the time. I plan to continue cooking like this for many years."

Becky has since had a little baby boy with her partner Nathan – and says she now feels more confident than ever with her trim physique.

She added: "Even whilst I was pregnant with Dexter I didn’t slip, and it’s even helping me lose the baby weight now.

"I feel so much better within myself. I never used to want to leave the house or be seen outside alone but I’m so much more confident."

Becky has also started doing more exercise – and says getting a dog has also helped with her weight loss.

"I’ve now also been able to get a dog, which means I’m out of the house at least twice a day doing exercise – something I never thought I would do", she said.

“We’re all really making the most of our days off, spending time with the family visiting parks.

"Before I lost my weight, I would have spent them having a duvet day without getting any fresh air.

“Spicentice has given me my confidence back whilst also teaching me a really great skill – how to cook."
