WHEN you think of a treehouse, you probably think of a rustic shack sitting precariously in a tall tree.

But Alison Teal is doing her best to set the record straight about the unique abodes, and took to TikTok to share a video of her homemade treehouse.

"My parents and I built it by hand sustainably," Alison began.

" We have a bamboo ladder to get up to the treehouse.

"This is my room, up in a mango tree, with my turtle bedspread, my favourite hammock and of course, my bathtub.

"It’s a tank that cows drink out of."

And if she doesn't want a bath, there's a "jungle shower" outside, shaped like a fish, that they can use.

"Let’s go see the rest of the treehouse," she continued.

"This is our view where I can check the waves and see whales and dolphins.

"And then if you go up even further in the treehouse there’s my parents’ bathroom and then up, up even further, my parents’ bedroom.

And the family also forage their food from the trees surrounding them, with Alison revealing they'd got coconuts, mango and papaya and apple for that morning.

For anyone worrying that living so remotely means Alison doesn't have many friends, she insisted that she does – a gecko called Guava.

People in the comments section were quick to weigh in on Alison's unique living situation, with one writing: "This seems cool but me personally couldn't do this."

"no because spiders," another added.
