Mum slammed for asking parents to pay for son's £415 outdoor playset instead of giving him birthday presents

AS much as you want to be happy for your little one when they're showered with presents at their birthday party, you can't exactly blame parents for stressing about where they're going to fit the all new additions.

Well one woman has come up with a rather imaginative way of working around this issue – by asking parents splash out £415 on her son's outdoor playset instead.

In a personal essay for Mama Mia, a horrified parent revealed that the woman had set up a GoFundMe page for her son's extravagant birthday and asked others to contribute towards it.

Written from the perspective of the birthday boy, the post read: "My birthday is coming up and I would be so excited to play on an outdoor play set.

"To contribute to my birthday present please donate to the fundraiser."

Needless to say, the fundraising page didn't set well with the woman – who assumed something tragic had happened when she saw the Go Fund Me post.

This request for donations to purchase a £415 play set really doesn't seem to be motivated by financial hardship…

Unlike things you ordinarily see on fundraising websites, she added: "The fundraising caption was an image of her son, in his well-styled and decorated play room, surrounded by toys… expensive toys."

Unsurprisingly, other parents have been similarly unimpressed with the mum's request and refused to contribute… can't say we blame them tbh.

She added: "There have been zero donations".

For more parenting stories, this mum who is planning on calling her son Stanley Oliver has considered changing his name after realising the Laurel and Hardy connection.

And this mum has been BANNED from sleep deprivation in a mother's support group because "it could be upsetting".

Plus a mum has been accused of "poor parenting" and told to "toughen up" after revealing she still lets her six-year-old daughter have a dummy.
