Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma and Welsh hottie Liam tipped as favourite to win Love Island based on their star sign

EVERYONE’S favourite summer dating show is returning soon – but what is the formula for finding success in the villa?

With Love Island making its return on 6 June, fans have already begun making predictions about who will couple up with who and who will be voted as the series winner. 

Reboot SEO have investigated which star sign has had the most successful record on the show to help predict who the winning duo may be.

After sifting through all the previous winners of the show they found that Taurus has the best track record with three winners and three runner ups.

Previous Taurus winners are Jessica Hayes (season one), Kem Cetinay (season three), Jack Fincham (season four), and runners up were Jamie Jewitt (season three), Laura Anderson (season four) and Tommy Fury (season five).

However, when it comes to long term success in their relationships, only two of these six are still with the partner they met in the villa.

This may spell success for Taurus and Team GB dressage champion, Gemma Owen.

The daughter of football legend Michael Owen is set to enter the villa this summer. Describing herself as “fun, flirty and fiery”, she adds that when it comes to going after the same guy as another islander she “wouldn’t do anything to another girl that I wouldn’t be happy with them doing to me.”

The star sign with the second best success record is Leo, with four winners and one runner up. Previous Leos winners are Dani Dyer (season four), Amber Gill (season five), Paige Turley (season six) and most recent winner Liam Reardon (season seven), as well as season two's runner up Alex Bowen.

The Leo success rate could make Welsh student  Liam Llewellyn one to watch this summer.

Talking about his choice to go on the show, the 22 year old said: “I think Love Island is a great opportunity to meet someone, you’re in with a load of different types, so you can get to grips with what you really like about people.”

While other star signs have not been quite as successful as Taurus and Leo, there have still been some successes among the other star signs.

Aries, Sagittarius and Aquarius all have one winner but zero runner ups, while Virgo and Capricorn have no winners, but one runner up each.
