Kate, Duchess Cambridge, 38, is a royal style icon and has delighted fans in an array of chic outfits for her virtual engagements during lockdown. Earlier this week Kate presented the results of her 5 Big Questions for Under Fives survey after dedicating the best part of a decade into looking at the importance of early years learning.

The Duchess first presented the findings during a keynote speech on Friday and later explained each of its key insights in separate videos shared by Kensington Palace on social media.

Kate asked Britons to send in questions about the survey and on Saturday featured in a new video to thank those who did and answer some of their queries.

Kensington Palace tweeted the clip with the message: “Thank you so much to everyone who submitted a question throughout the week – we’ve seen such an incredible response, touching on so many different aspects of the early years.

“This is just the start of the conversation. Thank you for being part of it.”

In the clip, Kate wears a vibrant purple dress as she sits on a blue chair and scrolls through the questions on her phone.

The Duchess says: “I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who sent in their questions.

“A huge number here with loads of wonderful emojis attached to them.”

Kate goes on to answer varied questions about the survey and its findings from fans.

Kate’s secret message to the Queen

Kate’s sent a powerful message with her outfit as she chose to wear a historically royal shade – purple.

Purple has long been linked to the Royal Family and by wearing it Kate seemed to signal her loyalty to the crown.

Purple’s elite significance stems from the cost of the dye originally used to produce it.

Only rulers could originally afford to wear purple garments which is why it became associated with wealth and power.

The colour purple was so precious to Queen Elizabeth I that the Tudor ruler banned anyone other than close royal family members from wearing it.

Kate and Prince William are the future heads of the monarchy and while the Royal Family has had a turbulent 18 months they have remained steady.

By wearing purple for her latest appearance Kate may have sought to reassure the Queen that she feels ready for her future role as Queen Consort.

Will Kate and William spend Christmas with the Queen?

Kate and Prince William are likely to spend Christmas Day down the road from the Queen and Philip at Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate.

On Saturday a royal source told the Daily Mail that Prince Edward, Sophie, Countess of Wessex and their two children would bubble-up with the Queen and Philip this Christmas.

However, the source also pointed out that if the annual Boxing Day shoot takes place at Sandringham than up to 30 people will be able to gather without breaking the rules.

This could mean that William, Kate take Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, to see their great-grandparents on Boxing Day.
