Kate Middleton just wore the chicest fall outfit

11/12/2019

The Duchess of Cambridge is giving off major fall vibes while stepping out for an engagement alongside Prince William on Tuesday.

The parents-of-three met with Shout volunteers at the Crisis Volunteer celebration held at Troubadour White City Theatre in London, which brought together volunteers from the organization and families who have been impacted by the service from across the UK. Duchess Kate and Prince William, who launched the service alongside Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan as part of the Royal Foundation’s Heads Together campaign in May, met with volunteers to address their imperative work.

Shout, known in the US as “Crisis Text Line,” is the United Kingdom’s first 24/7 text service for anyone in crisis, whether they’re anxious, worried or stressed. Launched just six months ago, trained volunteers are able to respond to the text messages and provide free, confidential mental health support. Since the program’s inception, the service has worked with 1,500 volunteers to provide over 145,000 conversations on everything from depression, bullying and suicide.

According to reports, 75 percent of those who have contacted Shout are under the age of 25.

As part of their outing on Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with Ian Russell, who has been advocating for better mental health awareness after his 14-year-old daughter, Molly, took her own life in November 2017 after viewing self-harm content on social media.

The couple’s appearance this week follows a weekend packed with royal engagements for Remembrance Sunday, which commemorates Britain’s fallen service men and women. The couple stepped out on Saturday at Royal Albert Hall their first public appearance with Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan since July, and the first event since Prince Harry revealed there have been “tensions” with his brother in a rare documentary interview that premiered last month.

“We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and as I know he’ll always be there for me,” the Duke of Sussex explained in the ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, which aired last month. “We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy but I love him dearly. The majority of the stuff is created out of nothing but as brothers it’s just as I said, you have good days, you have bad days.”

The dukes also appeared on Sunday for a Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph on White Hall alongside other members of the royal family.  Prince Harry and William, both veterans, layed wreaths in honor of fallen service members.
