AN INTERIOR designer has revealed the three mistakes she always sees people make when renovating their bathrooms.

Brie Turton, who is from Australia and posts under the acronym @studiobrie, took to TikTok and shared an informative video which has since received over 1.1 million views.

In the clip, she begins: "I'm an interior designer and if you're in the process of designing your bathroom, you're going to want to hear these."

First up, she notes how time and time again, people forget about the flow and function.

"Essentially you want to think about exactly the path you're going
to track when using your bathroom," she explains. "For example, as soon as I get out of the shower I want to be able to grab a towel within arm's reach."

Sharing an ideal example alongside one that's not been thought through properly, Brie continues: "This design has done it really well here because when you open the door, the shower rail for the towel is right there.

"With this bathroom however, you can see there's an unnecessary walk from the toilet to the basin.

"What you could've done is swapped the basin and the shower – everything's right next to each other and that would've allowed you to put a towel rail on the wall right next to the shower."

Moving onto number two, Brie highlights the importance of considering toilet placement.

"We do not want to open the door and see the toilet straight away," the design expert says.

"This is an interior design trick and will make you look like you've had it designed."

Finally, she urges homeowners not to block corners of the bathroom that you can't get to clean.

"This bath should've been flush to the wall and not freestanding because there's not enough room to clean," she explains.

The post has since been inundated with messages from social media users who were grateful for the advice.

"Getting the perfect floor plan/flow is definitely the most important part," wrote one.

A second penned: ""Yes!!! Whenever I saw tubs like that as a kid I was like 'how can you clean there?'"
