WHEN it comes to your home interior, there are small changes you can make to class up your space.

Interior design experts have revealed the six affordable ways you can elevate the look of your home, according to Apartment Therapy.

Rachel Moore, who works as a home stager and lead designer for Madison Modern Home, shared her mantra with the outlet.

Keep only what is either useful or beautiful she advised home owners.

"When everyday tools are inherently pleasing to the eye, you're always surrounded by beauty," she explained to Apartment Therapy.

Opting for a minimalism approach can also help elevate the style of your home, according to the interior expert.

"Keep as few items in the bedroom as possible. Bedside lamps, candles, a book or two, and a stylish carafe at most. Everything else must go," she advised.

Moore also recommended incorporating artwork and tasteful décor pieces into your home.

She explained: "The more you can show an interest in art and culture, the better."

Swapping out tired ceiling lights for updated lighting fixtures can also make your home look more sophisticated.

Interior designer Candace Toscano suggested updating the lampshades on any table or floor lamps if you can't afford new overhead lighting.

The expert also shared some tricks of the trade for staging homes, making them look more expensive.

For example, placing a few drops of vanilla extract on aluminum foil will create a subtly sweet scent throughout your home.

And finally, both experts recommend hanging high quality curtains close to the ceiling, to create a chic and classy look in any room.

"Fabric like velvet, silk, and linen give a more sophisticated look than basic cotton curtains," Toscano told Apartment Therapy.
