A VET has revealed the three things he hates seeing dog owners do with their furry friends.

Doctor Hunter Finn revealed the three common mistakes he sees owners make.

In a TikTok video, the vet revealed his biggest pet peeves – including why your feeding your pooch all wrong.

He started by explaining how dog parks aren't as great as they seem.

The dog expert said: "I'm honestly not a big fan of dog parks.

"They're not bad in theory, but I see the bad side of them."

I’m a dog expert – here’s why first time owners shouldn’t get ‘guard dogs’

Working in a veterinary clinic, Dr Finn often sees dogs pick up infectious diseases, parasites and dog bites from going to the dog park.

"They're good in theory as I want your dog to have good enrichment, but there's better places," he added.

The vet also said that you are feeding your dog wrong and giving your dog chews, like antlers, can be dangerous.

He explained: giving your dog antlers and then just walking away, I get it, it keeps them busy for a long time.

"But you know what antlers are also good for? Withstanding tonnes of force from fighting animals.

"So there's a really good chance it's gonna break your dog's tooth and you're gonna have to spend hundreds of dollars fixing it."

Continuing the theme of feeding your dog, the vet said you're getting supplements all wrong too.

While, it can be good to give your dog supplements to support their health, too many can have the opposite effect.

The vet explained: "I'm all for supplements, like joint supplements, skin and health supplements, probiotics.

"But some of you ought to be giving too much stuff that your pet does not need.

"I know you just want the best for them, that's what I want to," he added, "but more is not always better."

The video has since gone viral with over 570k views and over 44k likes.

People quickly took to the comments section to share their thoughts and tips.

One wrote: "It’s remarkable to me that people trust strangers and their dogs to just be cool and let their pets loose around them. Like, what?!"

Alternative to busy dog parks: sniff spot! You can rent out someone’s yard for your dogs. Much better option, imo."

Another person commented: "I’m a dog trainer and I agree with all of this."
