A MAKE-UP professional has revealed the reason your foundation ends up looking patchy, and it’s a common mistake.

TikTok user Ivelina Stefanova, who posts under @ivistefanovaa, uploaded a video revealing her game-changing tips, and it has racked up 64,000 likes.

In the clip, she said: “Make-up mistakes you may be doing and how to avoid them, by a professional make-up artist.”

Ivelina advised that you should always prep your skin before applying make-up.

She explained: “You should always apply moisturiser before starting with your make-up.

“This way your face will be hydrated, your skin will be glowing and everything you put on top will be flawless.

“If you don’t moisturise your skin well any foundation you use will stick right into every dry spot you have and it will look cakey and patchy.”

In the video, she also shared other common mistakes, such as ignoring your brows when you do your make-up.

She advised that beauty blenders should be used when wet instead of dry, and you should always dab on the skin instead of swiping down, as this removes the foundation.

And if you struggle to get the perfect eyeliner, there is a way to solve it.

You can take an angled brush and add a tiny amount of black eye shadow along the line to correct any mistakes.

Finally, Ivelina always advised using a lip liner so the lips look fuller and the colour lasts longer.

She added: “If you don’t use a lip liner you’re missing out.”

Many people thanked her for her tips, with one saying: “That was the best makeup video that I have ever seen!”

Another added: “Oh my goodness these tips are so good especially the eyeliner one my eyeliner always looks messy especially the top line.”
