A FASHION expert has revealed the two tricks she uses to elevate her everyday outfits – and they work for everyone.

Both of Marie Eriksson's tips are super easy and affordable for any budget, you'll likely already own a number of items she suggests adding for a high-end look.

Posting to her TikTok, Marie says she uses these tips to pick out her day-to-day outfits, adding that sometimes she uses just one of these tips, while other times she may combine both of them.

“The more of them you use the more ‘dressed up’ you will look, so it really just depends on what type of vibe you are going for” advises the fashionista.

Add structure or shape to your silhouette

The first of the two tips is to add some form of structure or shape to your silhouette. According to Marie you should “create some type of interest around your silhouette,” adding that there are many ways to do this.

The easiest way to achieve this is to add in a piece that already has some form of structure of its own. For this Marie suggests an undone button down shirt, a blazer, or some office trousers.

You could also tuck in your shirt or add a belt, which can add some definition around your waist.

Marie also suggests combining loose and fitted clothing into one outfit which can create an interesting silhouette in the contrast it creates.

Combine your colours the right way

Marie’s second tip is to combine your colours, but be sure to check you’re doing this the right way.

The fashion guru suggests two simple options for doing this – you can add one statement piece or you could coordinate your outfit with some matching elements.

“Remember that elevating a basic outfit also lies in the details so adding matching elements doesn’t have to be super obvious to make a difference,” adds Marie.
